Chautauqua Gran Fondo Donates $15,000 to Local Charities
The 4th annual Chautauqua Gran Fondo was held on August 25, 2018, at Webb’s Resort in Mayville, New York. The event, hosted by the Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC), is a charity cycling event that benefits local non-profit organizations while promoting health and wellbeing for riders at any skill level. This year’s event brought in nearly 400 riders, who came from all over the region. In fact, approximately 70% of the riders traveled from outside of Chautauqua County to participate.
Riders at this year’s event had the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of Chautauqua Lake and its rich history on one of 3 scenic routes, each of varying distances. At the conclusion of the cycling portion of the event, riders were treated to a family-friendly celebration at Webb’s Resort, which featured lunch, refreshments, and live music. The event was sponsored by Lake Shore Savings, the Matric Group, 59LUCYLANE.COM, Webb’s Captain’s Table Restaurant, and many more.
Most importantly, this year’s event raised $15,000 to benefit local charities, which include the Rosemary “Rosie” Billquist Memorial Fund, The Rapaport Fund for Breast Cancer Patients and Equipment, The Crèche, Inc., and the Chautauqua Lake Community Sailing Foundation.
